j dawg

This weekend was spent doing things out of the ordinary. Friday night was Winger's and laser tag! Saturday was an impromptu lunch party with our friends while watching the BYU basketball game. (see our other party here.) Later on, we worked on a project (pictures to come), went on a horchata run and played Uno Attack! Normally, we just sit inside, watch movies, and clean (yes our house is a mess. Monday just became cleaning day) so this was a nice change.

Our contribution to the lunch party was grilled hot dogs which, we decided to make into J-Dawgs. For those of you not familiar, J-Dawgs is a little red hut south of BYU campus in Provo, Utah that serves hot dogs. They have a special sauce that sets them apart and makes people beg for more.
Cue our lunch party, copy cat, special sauce recipe.

Hot dogs, Polish or Beef dogs, whichever suits you best
3/4 C ketchup
3/4 C brown sugar
1/4 C honey
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp onion powder

Add all ingredients in a saucepan. Boil for 1 minute and let cool. We grilled the buns for extra yumminess affect.
It's not the exact thing, but it comes pretty close. We now have a jar filled with the stuff to keep on hand.
