"fa ra ra ra ra ra ra ra ra"

Oh Christmas, you were so good this year. You never seem to dissapoint. With all the time spent with loved ones, who could complain. I loved all my great presents from husband, including this and this, dancing my heart out with the new Kinect. No lie, my favorite part of Christmas is watching other people open their presents, whether it's that cute sweater they saw at Target or the iPad they've been oogling at the store. I got to watch A Christmas Story for the first time ever and loved it. Hilarious! Of course we snacked and ate to our hearts content. And even though it didn't snow, the sun warmed my heart and made it easier to travel from family to family.

Thank you Christmas. We'll see you next year!

tis the season

We were lucky enough this year to get tickets to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's Christmas Concert. I don't know if you heard but David Archuleta performed with them! Good thing we got there early because hundreds of people with tickets didn't get in, even if they were there an hour early! Before we got in line though, we stopped at Bayleaf Cafe down on mainstreet SLC. It's a new found treasure. Think lots of southern cooking. Drinks were served in Mason jars and dinner included chicken and waffles. YUM.
David Archuleta was phenomenal. Seriously so smooth and just the cutest little nugget. He's grown up a lot since his stint on American Idol.

Oh! I forgot to tell you! She's our claim to fame! This is my mother-in-law Leslie who is in the Mo-Tab. She's legit.

christmas monster

Not gonna lie, this weekend I have been a Christmas monster. Stressed about decorating, shopping, countdowns and such. My own husband was scared of me as we traipsed around the mall on the hunt for presents with the rest of Utah County. Luckily, Sunday, I was kindly reminded at church and while watching this why we celebrate Christmas. And my heart grew 3 sizes tonight as I enjoyed this message. I hope yours does too. And I hope we will all remember what Christmas is all about.

tree lover

Sorry I've been MIA. I don't have time to shower let alone blog. But I wanted to share a lovely Christmas tradition me and my family have. Every year, since as long as I can remember, we go chop down our tree. My dad goes and stands in line months in advance, so we can get a permit. And then Thanksgiving weekend, we travel to Strawberry Reservoir area to find our tree! Don't tell my dad, but sometimes I wish I could just get a fake tree. You know, sometimes they look better. But I always forget that when we actually put our tree up. The wonderful smell of it all just gets that fake tree right out of my head. Plus it's always way to much fun getting the tree, of course.
