new/old favorites

two of our new favorite restaurants are

1) Buffalo Wild Wings

We used to go when we lived in Ohio & Texas a couple summers ago so we were so excited that one opened up in Lehi. We got brave and went opening day.

I kept hearing about how great this place was, so I took Brit with me. We both got the Adventist (veggie burger) and thought it was to die for. We'll be back soon.
Thanks for the pics Brittany.

I Hypnobirth

Before I got pregnant, I always thought an epidural was the way to go in labor. Of course, I would never want to experience all that pain that I had heard so much about. But then, last summer, I had a good friend introduce me to Hypnobirthing, a way of natural birth. When she first told me about it, I thought, "Wow, you're a crazy person. Why would you ever do that?" But the more she told me about it, the more it made sense. With Hypnobirthing, you learn that pain, and fear do not have to accompany labor. And that if pain and fear do accompany you to your labor, it causes your body to tense up and close, not allowing it to do what it naturally knows how to do. With the Hypnobirthing program, you exercise positive thinking, relaxation, visualization, breathing, and physical preparation to prepare you for a gentle birth. After some hesitation, she showed me some Hypnobirthing videos. I was stunned at how calm these ladies were. How smooth labor can actually go, if you let your body relax and do what it already knows how to do. Even the babies seem more calm and responsive right out of the womb.

In March, when I found out I was pregnant, I knew right away I wanted to do Hynobirthing. When it came time to actually start taking a class, I Googled and found Fiona Judd who teaches Hypnobirthing in Orem. We just finished our 5 week course with her and loved it. We learned so much from her. She is very experienced and passionate about what she teaches, while being very down to earth and very understanding of everyone's situations. We left very informed about labor, things that can happen during labor, ways to relax during labor, etc and we feel very confident our labor will be a very stress free experience.

*I know labor is very different for every woman. Having a natural birth can't happen for everyone. I just hope to spread the word about this wonderful concept, and our wonderful teacher. To learn more about Hypnobirthing, go here. To learn more about Fiona and her class schedule, go here.

She likes Hypnobirthing. And so does she.

day dreaming

It's Griffindor's birthday on Monday, but I keep finding stuff that I want for my birthday. I mean, my birthday is coming up next month and I already got Griff all his presents so it's ok right?
I first saw these on The Daybook. The coolest things ever! Our phone update is coming soon so we're gonna get our iPhone 4s!!! You can bet your bottom dollar mine is gonna be covered up safely in that. Found here.
Ok this isn't so much a product but my pretty friend knows how much I love to fancy up my nails and found this cool new trend.
Feather nails?! Sign me up! Instructions on how-to here.
In our wanderings at Z-Gallerie a few weeks ago, I fell in love with this beauty right here.
It's called the Cuddler Chair. Isn't it perfect? It swivels and is just the softest thing you ever put your bottom on. I can just imagine reading in it for hours and hours. And cuddling of course.
Oh I want to do this. I've wanted to do this project forever (read as years) now.
First found here but they did it too. We even have different lyrics to do.
There it is. My dreamy birthday list.

maybe 3...

...is the number of days I've worn my new cords. In a row. I also am proud to say, I got them for $13 folks. That's right. Thanks to Gap's Holiday Sale, I'm their new walking ad.
On a side note, I'm also loving my orange toe nails. It's my pop of color in this dreary ice world.
If my legs look an eternity long, it's because they are.

put it in the bag

I've seen a few of my bloggy friends do a post about what they carry in their purse. I've enjoyed reading others' posts and getting a little insight into who people are and how they tick. So here's a little peek into my bag.
1. My actual purse was a Christmas present last year from my lovely sister-in-law Amy. When it comes down to actually purchasing a purse, I can never decide on what to get. Sometimes the decision has to be put into the hands of someone I trust.
2. My current read Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I read the first Hunger Games when it first came out (before it was cool ok?), long before there was ever a second or third book. Griff got the series for Christmas this year so it gave me a reason to reread the first book and then get into the second and third book. Needless to say, I don't get any sleep.
3. My iPod classic/love of my life. It holds 120 gigs. And no, I don't speak computer language but that's a lot. No joke, it's more memory than our little MacBook has.
4. Cherry Chapstick and lip gloss. I always freak out when I don't have chapstick. I probably put some on every 20 min so you see the dilemma when it's gone. (Griff has to let me borrow his and apparently gets bothered by me asking for it every 20 min. Go figure.) And I always put a little chapstick on before lip gloss because it's just too sticky.
5. Stride Sweet Peppermint gum. The staple to my life. I am a gum freak. Probably 10 hours out of the day I'm chewing on gum. So you see it has to have long lasting flavor. Last week, I ran out of gum and didn't have it for a whole day! Let's not talk about it....
6. Juicy Couture wallet. Also a gift. A very nice gift. One time I was at my favorite store and the lady at the counter said to me, "Oh a lady came in earlier with the real version of that wallet." What? Are you serious? Who are you? This is the real version home girl!
7. My cute little pink mittens which were also a gift from a lovely friend. They do a good job at keeping my digits warm while driving.
8. My camera and phone. Essential.

There you have it. Me in a nutshell...I mean bag.
What's in your bag?

jamberry nails

I can't believe I still haven't blogged about my new found little treasure. They are called Jamberry Nail Shields and they are awesome. They are basically nail stickers. You heat them up with a hair dryer to make them stay put for 2 + weeks. They have so many cool designs which make them a great stocking stuffer for any girly girl on your list. And with this half off coupon, you can even get some for yourself. Each order comes with a sheet of different size stickers that can be used 2 or 3 different times.
I ordered this one and this one.
Here is the video that shows you how to apply them.

Bijou Market

See you there! Hopefully you're lucky enough to be on my gift list this year ;)
Things I will probably not be able to say no to...

Don't be surprised if you see me there Friday AND Saturday

please help

...I can't seem to stop watching Keeping up With the Kardashians. Or Prison Break for that matter. Ever since all the seasons of each show hit Netflix, I can't stop.
...I love to do laundry. Maybe not folding it, just washing and drying is the funnest! Seriously, I need professional help.
...I have not saved my money and Bijou Market is coming up! Good thing Christmas is coming is all I can say.
...I never see my husband, and when I do, he's stuck doing homework. Yuck.
...All I want to do is craft. Which is turning out to be difficult since I started my new job today (which, lets face it, I would rather work than be a hermit crafter all day long.)
...There's still 11 days until Harry Potter comes out.

What's a girl to do?

salted caramel hot chocolate

We took at trip to Starbucks this last weekend (which just happens to be mine & Griffin's first date spot) for some hot chocolate. I decided to try something beside my usual vanilla steamer and was pleasantly surprised by their salted caramel hot chocolate. YUMMO. I've been craving it for a week now and will definitely be going back for more.
