i bijoued

This last Saturday I met up with a couple of my favorite lady friends to browse the Bijou Market.
One of the best ones yet, I say. I loved that they brought some vintage vendors this time.

Bod, Brittany, and moi

My inner Harry Potter nerd came forth when I found and bought this lovely journal.
It's too awesome, I don't know if I can write in it.

"i could hold you for a million years to make you feel my love"

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! It always goes by too fast for us. But we had fun with friends and went and saw The Adjustment Bureau which we loved. And celebrated my big sister's birthday.
This project that was on my birthday list got done a few weeks early! I thought it was going to be way hard and cost some money but it actually just took a few hours and $10.
I love it!

get ready for a little braggin'

Griffin got an awesome cake for his birthday. I would like to say I did all the work but with a little help from my sisters, and Griffin himself (yes, he helped make his own cake. I can't help that he can just do everything right!) Guess how old he is....

idea found here. too many m&ms for us though so we stuck to the edges.

domestic diva

Don't be fooled. Even though he looks good doing it, Griff did not crochet that burp cloth or the matching baby blanket last week. I did! I made similar ones this summer. These were for our friends, Greta & Mike and their baby girl Vienna, who will make her debut sometime in February! Hope you all had a good weekend! We surely did. Pictures to come soon.

copy cat

The big wall in our kitchen has been empty until I finally had the chance to put up the newly painted window frame. I decided to turn it into a picture frame! I remembered a time this last spring when I walked into Soel boutique, and saw coffee filters and thumbtacks in the wall. I loved it! This is our remake of it but instead of thumbtacks, we used different buttons and used sticky-tack to keep them on the wall. We also used paper doilies, and cupcake wrappers. I was afraid it would look trashy but I actually like it.
I'm not really in love with the flowers in the middle of the frame, it's just there until I find something better I like to put in it. Any ideas?

please help

...I can't seem to stop watching Keeping up With the Kardashians. Or Prison Break for that matter. Ever since all the seasons of each show hit Netflix, I can't stop.
...I love to do laundry. Maybe not folding it, just washing and drying is the funnest! Seriously, I need professional help.
...I have not saved my money and Bijou Market is coming up! Good thing Christmas is coming is all I can say.
...I never see my husband, and when I do, he's stuck doing homework. Yuck.
...All I want to do is craft. Which is turning out to be difficult since I started my new job today (which, lets face it, I would rather work than be a hermit crafter all day long.)
...There's still 11 days until Harry Potter comes out.

What's a girl to do?

little miss crafty

Hello blog world. I have been on a crafting rampage and thought I'd share a few with you.
This is our handmade Color Me Mine project. I know, who knew they had butter dishes right?

This is my newspaper glitter leaf garland.

I found instructions on how to make tassels in last months Martha so I put 'em on a basket.

This is our pallet box. I can't really take credit for this cuz Griff did the hard work. Don't worry, there will be curtains under there soon. (Those are our new couches!)

And this is one of my cute Halloween banners I made with my mom at a Super Saturday.

Don't worry, there's more. If you come over to visit, you'll see more. And maybe I'll have a nice treat for you too.

babies babies everywhere

We have so so many friends who are having babies! And we still have 3 weeks here in Laredo aka I need something to do. My mom gave me the idea to make some cute little blankets and burp cloths for a couple of these babies and so I am! I'm doing some crocheting around the edges and they're turning out so cute right?
